O.A.P. - Human Milkshake

O.A.P. (or Onanistic Anti-Peristalsis for short) were a death metal band based in Newport, Wales. I believe they finally kicked the bucket sometime around 2013/14 and Human Milkshake was their only album release. They featured members of death metal bands Necrocest and Cryptophile, as well as having local promoter / general all round good egg Sam Wall as one of the vocalists.

Human Milkshake gets better as it goes on; personally I find the opening track "Jeremy Kyle" hilarious yet a bit repetitive, but the guys quickly fall into a gurgling groove which should satisfy the nastiest of death metal bloodhounds. The inclusion of shouted vocals alongside the gutturals and inhales is an interesting choice but adds a fresh dynamic to a tried and tested formula of music. A tidy production job as well, rounds the whole thing off with a surprisingly heavy hit for a drum machine band. Top stuff!

I miss the O.A.P. shenanigans. Reunion tour?

Cease Of Breeding - Sounds Of Disembowelment

Easily one of the best slices of death metal I've heard in the last few months, Cease Of Breeding's only album, entitled Sounds Of Disembowelment, literally has the definitive death metal production sound, giving all of these massacres (I'm talking about the songs, geddit?) the room they need to breathe, and more importantly, brutalize, like a hundred daggers to the face and a thousand punches to the stomach all at once, or something equally as ridiculous.

The drumming is incredible, the guitars are ripping and the balance between the instrumentation is nothing but pure class. The vocals...well, maybe you should press play. Death metal always comes with some levels of discomfort but this is entirely and sickeningly indulgent; a total pleasure to listen to. Fucking awesome stuff.

Libido Airbag - Sleaze Servant

Sleaze Servant is the new EP from long-time techno-gore-grind filth mongers, Libido Airbag; a "band" so balls deep in scum and vulgar sounds that even your gran loves a dance to some of their older tunes. They've hardly pumped out volumes of material in their long existence, but the fact that they can still develop and spew out fresh sounds in such a restrictive genre is a testament to gore and porno grind, especially the latter, which often gets bogged down with oceans of crap digi-bedroom projects. Please ladies and gentlemen, just because you've found out how to work a drum machine, it doesn't mean you can't start a fuckin' grindcore band.

But I digress. Sleaze Servant is exactly what the title promises it will be. Whilst a layer of filth has definitely been peeled away from The Airbag as they have progressed into the HD world; those old, minging recordings from the past were a lot sketchier than the pristine techno instrumentation on this record. Don't get me wrong though, it's still mankin' as absolute fuck; the title track and "Black Mark Of The Iron Phallus" are examples of Libido Airbag at their titty-clamping best (edit: what?), whilst "Rectum Ritual" and "Praise The Placentagram" are filthy, delicious, and I guess in a really twisted way, just pure fucking genius. 10/10 for nastiness!

Abscess - Urine Junkies

Urine Junkies is a Relapse compilation CD featuring three of Abscess' earliest releases and demos. It was put out in 1995 under the label's Underground Series, and brought Abscess to a whole new level of exposure. One of the downsides of listening to a compilation is that the sound is all over place, but it is a small price to pay when you get to check out a cross-section of stuff that a band has to offer. Hey, this shit is nowhere near as fucking terrible as that Nunslaughter compilation I got last year. Abscess, thankfully, seem to lack in the nauseatingly bad live recordings department.

My favourite thing about Abscess though has got to be the vocals; incredibly nasty gargles, shouts or even lows. Also, I get the feeling that a lot of this older stuff just got tarred with the grindcore brush at the time because it was, for some surreal and brief moment in history, the "in" thing to do; Abscess' cheeky lullabies of filth are more akin to some bizarre world of punk mixed with death metal (I get a Pungent Stench vibe, if that is applicable?) than anything grinding. Regardless, this is fucking excellent.

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Motiva Pervertiva

(I implore you to forgive me the ridiculously low quality of today's upload. This is literally impossible to track down online, and I unfortunately do not own a copy of the super-limited lathe cut 7". That being said, if anyone has any hi-res scans of the cover art that would do this post more justice, then please, by all means, feel free to get in contact with me, and of course upload the pictures to Discogs too).

Almost matching the lo fi sleeve is the nasty lo fi goodness from everyone's favourite obscure gore/porngrind couple. The bass tone on this thing is unreal; it's like, I can't decide if it is fucking abysmal or absolutely amazing - it is hovering in between in an endless duality. I'd be lying if I said there was anything new here for Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium fans, but if you are into this shit then you are gonna love this EP (or just this YouTube link, because finding one is probably gonna be a fuckin' task). There is just a certain charm to this band; it almost sounds like everything is recorded using analogue equipment. It sounds old, and nasty as fuck, and that's absolutely fine by me.

Prostitute Disfigurement - From Crotch To Crown

From Crotch To Crown is the latest offering from long-running Dutch death metal group Prostitute Disfigurement. Honestly, when I first heard this, I thought it was an older release, as it isn't as polished as the previous album, Descendants of Depravity. It isn't exactly a step backwards though, as personally I prefer a bit of a rougher edge to my death metal, despite the clinical execution of Descendants... being pretty incredible stuff.

As always with Prostitute Disfigurement, you can expect a high-grade of solid death metal, with excellent guitar work, intense drumming and ferocious vocals. This has been on my "to-do" list for bloody ages, but there's not much I can say about it really, other than the fact that its fucking awesome. As this was out in 2014, I'm hoping there'll be another slab of death coming from these guys in the near future. In the mean time, check this out below.

Torsofuck / Lymphatic Phlegm - Split CD

Who would have thought that a split between two uncompromising legends of the goregrind genre could be so fuckin’ shite? Lymphatic Phlegm are not exactly my favourite band in the world; although I respect what they do I find a lot of their stuff kinda sounds like really crummy bedroom black metal. Once you’ve heard one Lymphatic Phlegm song you’ve heard them all, if I am to be brutally honest. That’s not meant as a diss, it is what it is. They are who they are, and they play what they play. They also carry this split. There’s a whole bunch of Lymphatic Phlegm madness here – if your into it, you will enjoy this split.

Torsofuck on the other hand, are lazy as fuck. All we got here is a couple of crappier versions of songs off the full length Erotic Diarrhea Fantasy, making only half of Torsofuck's material exclusive to this split. Seeing as the treble-heavy production on EDF already pushes the limits of half decent studio work, these extra-crappy demo versions are as worthless to me as a Thai hooker cut up into several pieces.

Astoundingly, this is available on Spotify, which isn’t exactly known for its reams of dodgy goregrind. The album art is heavily censored (read: completely different) though. If you’re into this shit, check out the Lymphatic Phlegm material, but don’t bother with the Torsofuck shit. This level of laziness is usually reserved for Agathocles 7”s. Disappointed.

Extreme Putrefaction - Marbling And Skin Slippage In Early To Modern Putrefaction

Extreme Putrefaction is another project in the gazillion ranks of noisemongering goregrind king Bobby Maggard. This particular little variant mixes bassy harsh noise with unstoppable drum machine attacks and septic tank gurgles. To get artsy fartsy in the descriptive sense, imagine earlier, analogue pedal Merzbow jamming with Urine Festival. Extreme Putrefaction literally sounds like shit pellets being machine gunned into a cesspool of unspeakable filthy depths.

For the uninitiated, 'gorenoise' can seem like quite an intimidating music genre but once you get used to the rediculously NSFW release artwork that comes with it, you can really lose yourself in some filthy (and often puzzling) sounds. To be slightly more controversial, America should be torturing terror suspects with this shit, not fucking Metallica records.

You cans stream this entire bastard on Youtube below. I'm also assuming due to the artwork dimensions that this was also released on a tape at some point?
