Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Motiva Pervertiva

(I implore you to forgive me the ridiculously low quality of today's upload. This is literally impossible to track down online, and I unfortunately do not own a copy of the super-limited lathe cut 7". That being said, if anyone has any hi-res scans of the cover art that would do this post more justice, then please, by all means, feel free to get in contact with me, and of course upload the pictures to Discogs too).

Almost matching the lo fi sleeve is the nasty lo fi goodness from everyone's favourite obscure gore/porngrind couple. The bass tone on this thing is unreal; it's like, I can't decide if it is fucking abysmal or absolutely amazing - it is hovering in between in an endless duality. I'd be lying if I said there was anything new here for Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium fans, but if you are into this shit then you are gonna love this EP (or just this YouTube link, because finding one is probably gonna be a fuckin' task). There is just a certain charm to this band; it almost sounds like everything is recorded using analogue equipment. It sounds old, and nasty as fuck, and that's absolutely fine by me.

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium / Nunslaughter - Split 5"

This little 5" is my first ever experience with the band Nunslaughter. Sure, I've seen the name around for years but it just ended up as one of those things that I never got around to checking out. So, when they split with one of my favourite noisy acts Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium, it was the perfect opportunity to check 'em out once and for all, and I gotta say, I like what I hear! The track doesn't really last that long but it's nice and heavy with a clear and pummeling production. One day soon I'll have to do a little online rootling through some Nunslaughter stuff.

 

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium have come leaps and bounds since first appearing on the noisecore/porngrind scene a good few years back. The recording here is crystal clear compared to some of their earlier efforts and not only that the playing is tighter than a slaughtered nun's crotch (pun obviously intended). The problem with 5"s is that they look so cool but they (rather obviously) don't hold much music. This shit is over and done with before I can fucking blink.

 

NxVx released this themselves on their prolific and rather excellent label Horns & Hoofs, whom I would definitely recommend checking out if you fancy getting a pile of NxVx stuff in one go.

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium / SMG - Split 7"

SMG play super shady-sounding rehearsal room grind. At least, on this 7" they play that type of stuff. To be fair, the sound here is terrible. I dunno if the copy I have is warped or something but the guitar sounds absolutely hideous. It's hard to listen beyond that once you've noticed it, so I don't think I can fairly form an opinion on SMG from this 7" alone. I bought it because I want all the NxVx stuff anyway, so it's no big deal; SMG will get a further chance to impress me in the future (just what I need; more grind bands to impress me! Ha!).

 

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium take a slightly different approach to usual on this split. Sure, it's still bass-driven grindcore fuckery but there seems to be a technicality to the songs that I have not noticed previously. The sound is still DIY as hell, but the bass-lines are a touch more engaging. The artwork is sexy as usual, and so is the transparent purple disc. You gotta love Horns & Hoofs Records; totally dedicated to the cause!

Deche-Charge / Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Split Tape

This split opens with a disappointing Deche-Charge recording of a live set. It takes forever to get started and when it does, it really doesn't amount to much at all. Recorded grind/noisecore/whatever can go one of two ways (both of which sound awful) - the recording can really capture the energy and/or dirty sound in a nutshell, or just fall flat on it's fucking face. Unfortunately for the legendary Deche-Charge, their contribution to this split falls (no pun intended) into the latter category.

 

NxVx on the other hand are much more with it, which is not something I ever imagined saying. Their material here is a lo fi bass-driven polka soundtrack for fisting your (preferably German) partner to. It is that filthy. Coupled with the mid-placed groovy goregrind is a whole farmyard's worth of vocal varieties, to keep things extra weird. I won't lie, every song does sound the same (until they break into something slowly and funky like jazz, with stick claps and everything), but there has to be some give and take with this particularly niche genre.

This tape was put out (and is still available) on the dank as fuck Belgian Bringer of Gore Records and is limited to 200 hideously orange copies. No links for this on Youtube, sorry guys!

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Orgasmic Echolalia

Another few months sail by, another Agathocles or Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium record falls into my claws! Ha ha! It's good because I think that if I listened to Necro Vom on a regular basis I'd become a serial killer of skanky heroin-riddled hookers, but every now and then I need my fix of cold, Eastern bass-grind and this 7" out on Escaravelho Records does not disappoint.

 

The Necro Vom sound here is at it's most typical, which is also when it is most enjoyable. Why fix what isn't broken, right? It works for Agathocles, Unholy Grave and a hundred other grindcore bands before them, so why shouldn't it work for these Necrocannibals? They are becoming very prolific and a quick look through Discogs will prove to you that they have amassed quite a discography of filthy releases under their belts, which is perfectly okay with me. Long live the grinding bass sickness!

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Gorki X

I never thought that I'd end up with some of this band's lesser available stuff, so I was chuft to see some excellent vinyl on sale really cheap on the recent Cemetery Rapist / Anal Penetration UK tour. This was the ridiculous price of £6, which is great because I never thought I'd stumble upon one of the 180 copies in existence, never mind get it at that price. Horns & Hoofs Records is the bands own label, and it's cool to see them putting out little runs of real vinyl.

What we have here from the Eastern grinding partnership is something altogether different than the usual Necrocannibalist sound. The churning, gutfucking bass is still there, but the songs are slow, plodding monstrosities instead of flat out blasts of hell. The vocals are still ridiculously shite and the band still sound like they can't play a single note, but hey, this is sloppy noisecore / grindcore, right? That's okay then, carry on old bean!

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium / Fascist Insect - Split 7"

 

The first thing you'll likely notice about this EP is that the labels instruct you to rip this at 45rpm, when it clearly should be played at 33rpm. Typos aside, we have a seriously interesting mix here. Fascist Insect have a punky approach to grind, and throw a lot of different influences into the mix as well (there is even an acoustic guitar at one point). The sound is very metallic, and the vocals are very strained and impressive. It's a bit difficult to make head or tail of their info section on the inside, but who cares. This band come strongly recommended. I will be looking out for Fascist Insect in the future.

 

Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium earn bonus points before I've even started for their sexy artwork. Should a cartoon be sexually arousing? Get this EP and decide for yourself! NxVx are a gore/porn-grind spin on the good ol'school grind template. It's pretty one dimensional and straight forward (it is grindcore after all ha ha), but it is very enjoyable. This isn't the ground-breaking grind release of the century but it sure as hell rocks my socks off.

2 Minuta Dreka / Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium - Split 7"

2 Minuta Dreka's somewhat disappointing split with Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium, on black, again out on Grind Block Records. Number 468 of 500. I got this in Hellfest 2010, on the Bones Brigade stall. 2 Minuta Dreka's offering is a harsh, distorted live set, including 2 cover songs, and it's far from being their best recording. Definitely a completist's item, and I would even maybe consider selling. Oh and what about Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium? Well, the less said about that side this time, the better.
