Chloroformed Female Victim - Demo #1

There comes a time in every musician's life where they must stop and think "why do I do this? What is the point in my existence and in turn, my creative output?". I've definitely asked myself that question many, many times. I assume then, that gore-legend and general all-round good egg Bobby Maggard never has, what with his seemingly never-ending repertoire of projects, bands and label releases. The amount of stuff this guy (and his cohorts-in-gore) churn out never ceases to totally astound me...what we have here is a fellow totally dedicated to his scene, his sound, and his dodgy xeroxed gore artwork.

Chloroformed Female Victim is one of Bobby's many hundreds of thousands of goregrind-related projects (slight over-exaggeration), who recorded their first demo abouts a year ago. What we have here is a 2-person aural assault of drum-machine fuelled, unrelenting goregrind. Or is that gorenoise? I'm not sure really where the line between the two blurs, but this is pretty abrasive stuff! The "21 Untitled Trx" are over in just shy of 15 minutes, so it's a short journey of blasting hellnoise, complete with the odd creepy spoken sample to really set it off. Sexy!

If you're familiar with the works of Mr. Maggard (and Mr. Astor) then you will no doubt know what to expect from a release such as this, but if you're not sure about things then be prepared to have your head cut off, hollowed out and stuffed with faeces. Dehydrated Tissues / Latexxx Command / Menstrual Fistfuck - Split CDr

When I got this through the door the other day it took me right back to the thick of the good ol' trading days! Gotta love these insane underground goregrind compilations and splits, there really is nothing like them anywhere else in the music world. As with most Dehydrated Tissues releases, this has been put out on the band's own label Regurgitated Stoma Stew Productions, who deal in a plethora of absolutely fucking filthy goregrind, porngrind and noisecore. Well worth a look in!

Dehydrated Tissues take their Rompeprop-worship to a whole new level here, even mimmicking Romperop's hilarious intro tracks with the song "IntroIntroLOL". Tracks like "Colon Pogo" and "I Am The Vaginal Cheese Inspector!!!" absolutely reek of Dutch polka goodness, and this can only be a good thing - there really is nothing quite like shaking your tail feather to some groovy-porno-gore-grind! It is the only music I can legitimately dance to (I'm not joking - you should have seen me at a Venetian Snares gig. Can anyone say "square"?).

Latexxx Command are just as great, but bring more of that dirty South American porno vibe, rather than wading through gore. Sure, it sounds virtually the same as Dehydrated Tissues give or take some production values, guitar tone and degree of phaser effect on the pitchshifter, but for me the definition between porngrind and goregrind is entirely the vibe you get from the music. It is easy to go ahead and catagorize bands into each genre, but so many sucessfully cross over so seamlessly that to an outsider it could look like there is no difference at all. Menstrual Fistfuck is a project by the same mind behind Latexxx Command and for this reason I think it sounds very similar to the latter, although it does shake it up a bit here and there.

Dehydrated Tissues - Gore Junkie

Holy shit this is some of the groovyest goregrind stuff I've heard in a long while! I just wanna get up and dance around the house, or more preferably a muddy field in the Czech Republic. I'm glad to be set to release a 4" record of this guy later this year - that is something I am greatly looking forward to. Pairing the nasty sounds of early LDOH with the "vibe" that I can only associate with the Myspace days of goregrind, and taking the groovy riffs and pitchshifted vocal styles along the lines of Rompeprop, Dehydrated Tissues packs a hell of a gory punch!

 

Gore Junkie was written and recorded entirely by the one member of the group; Bobby Maggard. It was also self-released on his own label, the aptly-titled Regurgitated Stoma Stew Productions.
